Cate and Catrina

Cate really did make it to Mexico on Sunday, with no problems.  It's already Wednesday and we are in Oaxaca.  This picture was taken just before our cooking class on Monday with Nora, who is from Oaxaca and very serious about her native foods and keeping traditions and the stories of these wonderful foods true.  You'll see pictures of Nora but with Cate now is Catrina, one of the famous Dia de Los Muertos figures.  She was created by a Mexican politcal cartoonist and writer.  She represents the upper crust and the fact that "you can't take any of it with you!"
